JR's Prop Betting Strategy

Released - 1/24/2010
My betting strategy has proved profitable for the past 3 years now (the extent of my betting career is about 5 years).  One of my favorite times of the week is when I can sit down and analyze the props lines.  For some plays, I see a prop that makes no sense to me and I fire on it.  For other plays, the risk/reward is favorable so I fire.  The third reason I take prop action is to hedge my game time bets. Which has proved to be a profitable strategy.

For instance, if I am betting the Colts cover the spread on Sunday... I will look for props that favor the Jets keeping things close (Sanchez over total passing yards or Cotchery over total receptions).

One thing about the Jets game I am sure of, is that Revis Island has closed it's borders and not even Peyton/Wayne can sneak in.

Definition of Proposition Bet: A Prop Bet which can also be known as an exotic bet, side or side bet is a wager placed on the outcome or a proposition of a particular event happening. Prop's can be anything from stats and happenstance in a regular game to personal, one-of-a-kind bets. For Example the outcome of the first play of the superbowl game or the first player to score is considered a proposition bet.
