Final Score: (19) Pittsburgh 70, (3) Villanova 65

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Ashton Gibbs scored 21 points and Gilbert Brown added 16, as 19th-ranked Pittsburgh pulled out a 70-65 victory over No. 3 Villanova at the Petersen Events Center. This marked the first meeting between these teams since last year's memorable NCAA Tournament East Regional final in Boston when Villanova claimed a 78-76 win on a last-second drive by Scottie Reynolds. Reynolds finished with 20 points -- 17 over the final 11 minutes -- in this one for Villanova (22-4, 11-3 Big East), which has lost two in a row for the first time in nearly two years and fell one full game behind Syracuse for first place in the Big East. The Wildcats and Orange will meet next Saturday in Syracuse. Villanova first will host South Florida on Wednesday, a day after Syracuse visits Providence. Jermaine Dixon chipped in 10 points for Pittsburgh (21-6, 10-4), which has won five straight on the heels of a 1-4 stretch. The Panthers tied West Virginia for third place in the conference -- one game ahead of Louisville. The top four seeds in the Big East Tournament earn a double-bye into the quarterfinals.

Final Score: (9) Ohio State 74, (11) Michigan State 67

East Lansing, MI (Sports Network) - Evan Turner scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the second half, and also finished with 10 rebounds and six assists, as ninth-ranked Ohio State held off No. 11 Michigan State, 74-67, in a matchup of elite Big Ten teams at the Breslin Center. William Buford contributed 17 points and 10 boards, while David Lighty went for 13 points and nine rebounds for Ohio State (21-7, 11-4 Big Ten), which recovered from a 60-57 loss to Purdue on Wednesday. Jon Diebler hit four three-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Buckeyes, who have won seven of eight overall. Durrell Summers scored a team-best 16 points for Michigan State (21-7, 11-4), which had won two straight following a three-game slide. Chris Allen and Draymond Green each had 11 points in defeat. Raymar Morgan had a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with nine points for the Spartans, who lost for only the second time in 15 games at the Breslin Center this season. Michigan State and Ohio State now sit one-half game behind first-place Purdue in the Big Ten standings. The Spartans will visit the Boilermakers next Sunday.
