NFL 2011-2012 Regular Season Preview: Week 1 AFC Picks

Get the best in Week 1 NFL betting Picks now watch this video and see what you are going to get this Football season:

The sports betting sites are lighting up with the picks for the opening week of the 2011-2012 NFL season. As the season starts, the AFC looks to unseat the NFC as reigning NFL champions. With the last two Super Bowl championships going to the NFC, the AFC is looking to establish dominance immediately and bring the Lombardi Trophy back to an AFC city in February.

PittsburghSteelers @ Baltimore Ravens (-2 ½)

If you bet online football odds then it may look strange that the Ravens are favored over the Pittsburgh Steelers. But this season series will be so close that home field advantage could be the only difference. The Ravens are expected to compete for the AFC North title and be the only team in the division to give the Steelers a hard time this season. The Steelers are ready for the regular season to start and are looking to get back to the Super Bowl again this year.

Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers

CincinnatiBengals @ Cleveland Browns (-6 ½)

Both of these teams are young teams developing with young quarterbacks. The Browns have a bit of  a head start on the Bengals as Cleveland’s young quarterback already has NFL experience. This should be an interesting game, but it will result in a Cleveland win.

Pick: Cleveland Browns

IndianapolisColts @ Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are healthy and ready for the season to start. The roller coaster ride that was the preseason for the Indianapolis Colts is over and the sportsbook promo verdict looks like it will be no Peyton Manning for week one.

Pick: Houston Texans

TennesseeTitans @ Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)

The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to capitalize on the wide open AFC South and try to rebuild some of the momentum that almost carried them into the playoffs last year. With a new head coach and new quarterback, the Titans are just trying to find an identity.

Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars

BuffaloBills @ Kansas City Chiefs

One of the worst rushing defenses in the league in the Buffalo Bills meets one of the most powerful running games in the league in the Kansas City Chiefs. You do not need to be a bookmaking expert to see where this one is headed.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

MinnesotaVikings @ San Diego Chargers (-9)

The San Diego Chargers are not happy about being one of the best teams in football last year statistically, but still missing the playoffs. San Diego looked extremely potent in the preseason while the Vikings are still breaking in a new quarterback in Donovan McNabb.

Pick: San Diego Chargers

DallasCowboys @ New York Jets (4 ½)

The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets are never at a loss for words. While the Cowboys have made some significant improvements to its roster, the Dallas front office managed to once again ignore the problems on the offensive line and in the defensive secondary. The Cowboys coaches will be fishing video clips out of this game for days as they try to decipher how the Jets beat them so badly on opening day.

Pick: New York Jets

New EnglandPatriots (-7) @ Miami Dolphins

Football fans in Miami should not get too excited about their prospects in this game. While the Patriots did not look like champions in its preseason games, New England is famous for playing possum until the regular season starts.

Pick: New England Patriots

OaklandRaiders @ Denver Broncos (-3)

These are two teams that make personnel decisions based on newspaper headlines and not talent. Both teams have new head coaches that have caused the same disruptions and distractions as the previous head coaches. When these two circuses collide, the only thing to watch for is that you don’t get hit by flying cotton candy.

Pick: Denver Broncos
