Georgia Tech (6-2) has lost 2 games in a row and are home underdogs against
a Clemson (8-0) squad, whose BCS title hopes improved last week since the
undefeated teams of Oklahoma and Wisconsin lost. Last season Clemson beat
Tech 27-13 and they are a well-balanced team with a solid defense and they can
move the chains through the air and on the ground. On the other side of the coin
the Yellow Jackets are all about the run, as they have the nation’s 5th ranked
rushing offense, but only rank 108th in passing offense.

The last time the Tigers began the season winning their first 8 games was in
2000 and then they lost their next game to Georgia Tech.

This last Saturday the Yellow Jackets lost to the Miami Hurricanes 24-7 and the
Tigers lit up the scoreboard in a 59-38 win over North Carolina.

On the season Georgia Tech is 4-3-1 ATS and has an O/U record of 5-3 and
Clemson is at 7-1 ATS and has an O/U record of 6-2.

Tech was rolling at 6-0, but in their last 2 losses their offense has struggled only
scoring 28 points and they have only averaged 253 yards. Duel-threat QB Tevin
Washington only had 36 yards rushing last week and he led the Yellow Jackets
on the ground in the Miami win and for them to get back in the W column and
beat Clemson he and of Orwin Smith (516 yards 8 TD) and QB David Sims (496
yards 2 TD) have to get back to running the ball.

Clemson only has the nation’76th ranked rushing defense and they will need to
keep lighting up the scoreboard on offense if they can’t stuff the run in this big
away ACC match up.

The Tigers lead the ACC averaging just over 482 yards of game on offense and
40 ppg and QB Tajh Boyd (2,379 yards 24 TD) and WR’s Sammy Watkins (54
rec 819 yards 9 TD) and DeAndre Hopkins (37 rec 510 yards 4 TD) lead a new-
look Clemson dynamic offense. Last week in the win over UNC Boyd had 5 TD
passes and this week will be facing a Tech pass defense that ranks 8th in the

Clemson is not all about the pass, as they can run the ball with Andre Ellington
(745 yards 7 TD), who did not get that many touches in last week’s big win. While
the pass defense of the Yellow Jackets is solid the same cannot be said about

their pass defense, which ranks 77th in the nation.

Turnovers are key in this game, as last week in the win over UNC Clemson
forced 6 of them while in their loss to Miami Georgia Tech committed 3 turnovers.

In some betting trends for this ACC match up Clemson is has covered the spread
every time in their last 4 road games, in their last 7 ACC games, and has an
Under record in 6 of their last 7 road games.

Georgia Tech is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 ACC games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10
games as a home underdog, and in 7 of their last 9 ACC games the total has
