This game is THE game of the college football season and the winner will be in
the driver’s seat to play in the BCS title game while the loser will be lucky to play
in a BCS game. This is the “Game of the Century” and it truly is with so much
at stake and both LSU (8-0) and Alabama (8-0) undefeated and are the top 2
ranked teams in the nation. Last season in Baton Rouge the Tigers beat the Tide
24-21. Alabama has the nation’s top ranked defense and LSU ranks 4th. This
game should be close and what team will come out on top, as neither has been
tested so far this season.

Both teams had a bye last week so each will be rested and in their last games
on October 22nd LSU beat a ranked Auburn team 45-10 and Alabama crushed
Tennessee on the road 37-6.

On the season LSU is 6-2 ATS and has an O/U record of 4-3-1 and Alabama is
7-1 ATS and has an O/U record of 4-4.

Alabama has the nation’s top-ranked run defense and if they can stuff the run
in this game they will be in good shape since the Tigers only rank 99th in the
nation in passing yards per game. RB Spencer Ware is coming back from being
suspended and leads the Tigers with 512 rushing yards and he and Michael Ford
are the 2 key guys for LSU on offense in this game.

Even though the Tigers’ strength is running the ball passing QB Jarrett Lee has
played stellar in the last 2 games combining to go 27/37 for 303 yards with 5 TD
and 0 INT. If the Tide defend the run well Lee may have to air it out more often
and will be facing an Alabama pass defense that ranks 2nd in the nation.

Lee will be the main QB, but run-first QB Jordan Jefferson will get some snaps
and for the season he has 123 passing yards with 2 TD and has rushed for 111

The Tide have a more well-balanced offense ranking 14th in the nation in rushing
yards per game and 63rd in passing yards per game. The Tide’s main weapon on
offense has to be RB Trent Richardson, who is a Heisman candidate and in his
last game he failed to rush for over 100 yards for only the 2nd game all season.
LSU has the nation’s 3rd ranked run defense and they cannot allow Richardson to
have a big game.

QB AJ McCarron leads the Tide’s passing attack and his main target is WR
Marquis Maze (39 rec 482 yards 1 TD). LSU has the nation’s 10th ranked pass

LSU ranks 2nd in the nation in turnover margin and they have forced 7 fumbles
and have 11 INT. This is key and the Tide cannot turn the ball over, as this game
should be tight.

In some betting trends for this HUGE SEC game the Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their
last 7 road games, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games facing a team with a winning
record, and has an Under record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 road games.

The Crimson Tide are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and has an Under
record of 4-1 in their last 5 home games facing a team with a winning road

LSU is 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games in Alabama.
