The Eagles (3-6) have lost 2 in a row, are 3 games back of the Giants (6-3) in
the NFC East, and are coming off an embarrassing home loss to the Arizona
Cardinals. The “Dream Team” has been more of a nightmare this season and on
top of that they may be without Michael Vick because of a rib injury. Vince Young
and Mike Kafka took reps with the first team this week at practice and maybe a
QB change would do the Eagles good since Vick has not played well.

The Giants are still in the lead in the NFC East, but with last week’s loss to
the 49ers they only have a 1-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles
have won 4 straight games against the Giants in the Big Apple and to make it 5
straight they will have to play good D against Eli Manning, who is having a great
season and has the 4th highest QB rating in the league.

Last Sunday the Giants lost to the San Francisco 49ers 27-20 and the Eagles
lost to the Arizona Cardinals 21-17.

This season the Eagles are 3-6 ATS and have an O/U record of 4-5 and the
Giants are at 4-4-1 ATS and have an O/U record of 5-3-1.

With Vick a question mark the Eagles may want to run the ball more, which is
a good idea since RB LeSean McCoy ranks 2nd in the league in rushing yards.
DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are a couple of big play WR’s, but who will
be getting them the ball and will the QB have time to find them? Big questions for
this NFC East match up.

Whoever is under center will need good play from the Philly offensive line to keep
Jason Pierre-Paul (9.5 sacks), Osi Umenyiora (7 sacks), and a Giants’ pass rush
that has the most sacks in the league this season out of the backfield. The New
York defense ranks 17th in the league defending the pass and 20th defending the
run.

Manning may be having the best season of his career and his 2 main targets of
WR Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks each have 40 catches and have combined
for nearly 1,300 receiving yards. The Eagles have 26 sacks on the season and
they have the league’s 11th ranked pass defense and if Manning has another big
game Philly may be in trouble.

The Giants’ rushing offense has struggled this season and if Ahmad Bradshaw

still can’t go because of a foot injury Brandon Jacobs will get most of the carries.
The Philly run defense ranks 17th in the league.

In some betting trends for this NFC East match up the Eagles are 2-5 ATS in
their last 7 games as an underdog, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games, and in their
last 10 road games the total has gone Over 9 times.

The Giants are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 home games, 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8
games as a favorite, and have an Over record of 6-2-1 in their last 9 games as a
home favorite.
