The Titans (7-5) are in the heat of the AFC South and AFC Wild Card race and things are looking good for them, as they have won 2 straight and RB Chris Johnson has been looking like the star back he has been the last few years. He has 343 rushing yards in Tennessee’s 2-game winning streak and will be counted on to have another big game against the Saints, who are away favorites in this game. The Saints (9-3) have won 3 in a row and while their offense has been on fire they are only a .500 team on the road this season. New Orleans has a 2-game lead over the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South and can really take control of the division with a win this Sunday in Music City.

In their last games the Titans were on the road and beat the Buffalo Bills 23-17 and the Saints were at home and beat the Detroit Lions 31-17.

On the season the Saints are a solid 8-4 ATS and have an O/U record of 6-6 and the Titans are at 7-5 ATS with an O/U record of 4-8.

Drew Brees is having another great season and unlike last season he is getting some help from the rushing offense. He played great against Detroit passing for 342 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT and he has one of the deepest and best receiving corps in the league. TE Jimmy Graham (75 rec 1,046 yards and 8 TD) has the 5th most receiving yards in the league and WR Marques Colston (51 rec 721 yards 3 TD) are both averaging around 14 yards per reception. Tennessee ranks 18th in the league in pass defense and their pass rush is not very good with only 22 sacks.

The Saints have 3 RB’s in Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles, and Pierre Thomas that lead the 8th ranked rushing offense and the Titans’ run defense ranks 21st in the league.

Johnson has rushed for at least 130 yards in 3 of his last 4 games and he will be key in this game and will be facing a Saints’ run defense that ranks a respectable 16th in the league. Where the Saints have struggled on D this season is against the pass, as they only rank 30th in the league and they gave up a ton of yards in the air to Detroit last week.

Titans’ QB Matt Hasselbeck does not have a great WR corps, but he is still getting it done leading an 8th ranked passing offense. He and Johnson will have to play well, especially if their defense cannot keep the Saints from lighting up the scoreboard. In the Saints 3 losses on the season they struggled to defend the run.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Saints are only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games, 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite, and have an Under record of 4-1 in their last 5 against teams with a winning record.

The Titans are a solid 9-2 ATS in the last 11 games as a home underdog, 4-1 against teams with a winning record, and in their last 5 home games the total has gone Under.

Both teams are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games.
