Well there is a new QB in Denver and it is a guy names Peyton manning, who has won the MVP 4 times, but has not thrown a pass since the 2010 season. The Broncos are hoping that the Manning of old shows up and can lead Denver back to the playoffs.

The Steelers will still have a solid defense, but they have a couple of big issues on offense heading into this season.

The Broncos are slight 1-point favorites in this home game with a total of 44.5.

Last season the Steelers were 9-7 ATS and they had a Over/Under record of 10-6 and the Broncos were 7-9 ATS with an Over/Under record of 10-6.

These 2 teams met last season in the playoffs and behind Tim Tebow the Broncos shocked the Steelers winning in a big upset. Manning is now the QB, but unlike his time in Indianapolis he finally has a solid rushing offense. Last season RB Willis McGahee rushed for 1,199 yards and Denver had the best rushing offense in the NFL.

Manning does not have the WR corps or a great pass catching TE, but the receiving corps is a young one that has talent. Still, the Broncos will be facing a great Pittsburgh pass defense that ranked #1 in the league last season. Also, it will be key that the offensive line of Denver plays well and keeps Manning off his butt.

The Steelers’ defense should be fine, but the offense will miss starting RB Rashard Mendenhall in this game, as he is still mending from last season’s knee injury. Last season Ben Roethlisberger had 2 1,000+ yard WR’s in Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown. Wallace was a holdout for most of the pre-season and it remains to be seen if he will play in this game. RB Isaac Redman, who rushed for 479 yards averaging 4.4 yards per carry last season, will be the lead back in this game.

The Steelers improved their pass protection in the off-season taking an offensive lineman in the 1st and 2nd round of the draft.

Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil combined for 21 sacks last season and they will need to get to Big Ben in this game. The Broncos played much better defense in the 2nd half of last season, but overall they still only ranked 18th in the league defending the pass and 22nd in defending the run.
