Texas is 3-0 and they are coming off an impressive blowout win, but are they for real? This time of the season will show that, as after facing Oklahoma State (2-1) they face 3 ranked teams in a row. The Cowboys are 2-0 at home this season and while they have the nation’s top ranked scoring offense their 2 wins have come against a couple of cream puff teams. The OSU defense has given up 52 points in their last 2 games.

Last season Oklahoma State beat Texas 38-26.

Both teams had last week off so each will be well rested and in their last games Texas beat Ole Miss 66-31 and Oklahoma State beat Louisiana-Lafayette 65-24.

Texas is 2-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 1-2 and Oklahoma State is 1-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 2-0.

Last season Oklahoma State beat Texas 38-26.

Oklahoma State has used 2 freshman QB’s this season and in their last win J.W. Walsh took most of the snaps and he passed for nearly 350 yards with 4 TD and 0 INT. The Cowboys have a solid young WR corps and they will be facing a Texas pass defense that ranks 25th in the nation. The Longhorns did give up 229 passing yards against Ole Miss, but they also came up with 3 INT.

Texas has 7 sacks on the season and LB Jordan Hicks is injured and may not play in this game and that may be a big loss.

OSU RB Joseph Randle has rushed for over 100 yards in every game this season, but he has not faced a legit run defense. Texas does not have a great run defense, ranked 59th in the nation, they will be the first big test for Randle and he has to gain some yards on the ground to take the pressure of his freshman QB’s.

David Ash has taken control of the Texas offense under center and he has yet to be picked off this season. He had a huge game in the win over Ole Miss with 326 passing yards with 4 TD and 0 INT. OSU has the nation’s 60th ranked pass defense that has to keep tabs on the Texas receivers, 2 of which are averaging over 16 yards per catch.

OSU ranks 31st in the nation in run defense and they will be up against Texas’ Malcolm Brown, who rushed for over 120 yards against Ole Miss, and Joe Bergeron, who is banged up, but should play in this Big 12 games.
