The Bengals (3-3) have lost 2 straight and last week they allowed the Cleveland Browns to get their first win of the season. The Steelers (2-3) are also coming off a loss and they should be rested for this game since their last one was the Thursday game last week. Both teams would really use a win, as each is chasing the Ravens (5-1) in the AFC North. Hard to believe the Steelers are the favorite, as they are really banged up, as LB LaMarr Woodley, RB Isaac Redman and RB Rashard Mendenhall are questionable and star S Troy Polamalu is Out.

In their last games the Bengals lost to the Cleveland Browns 34-24 and the Steelers lost to the Tennessee Titans 26-23.

This season the Steelers are only 1-4 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-2 and the Bengals are 2-3-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 4-2.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 363 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT and he leads the Steelers and their 7th ranked passing offense. He has a couple of great targets in Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace and each has over 340 receiving yards. The Cincy pass defense ranks 17th in the league and they did not do that bad last week in the loss to the Browns.

One big question for the Steelers is who will run the ball? Overall, Pittsburgh only has the league’s 31st ranked rushing offense and their top 2 RB’s may miss this game. 3rd stringer Jonathan Dwyer was inactive against the Titans and he may be needed in this game. The Bengals only rank 21st in the nation in defending the run and they struggled in that area against the Browns.

Andy Dalton had a HUGE passing game in the loss to Cleveland with 381 passing yards with 3 TD, but he was also picked off 3 times and that really hurt. WR A.J. Green leads the NFL in receiving yards and he will be going up against a Pittsburgh pass defense that ranks a respectable 4th in the league.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis has not had a good first season with the Bengals, as he has yet to rush for over 85 yards in a game and so far he has yet to average over 4 yards per carry. The Steelers’ run defense ranks 10th in the league, but that is the unit that has struggled with injuries.

The Bengals need to forget about the loss to the Browns where they committed 4 turnovers and only converted on 5 of 17 of their 3rd down conversions.

Steelers vs. Bengals Key Betting Trends

The Steelers have failed to cover the spread in their last 7 road games and in their last 4 games their D has struggled, which is why the posted total has gone Over every time.

The Bengals only have an ATS record of 1-5-1 in their last 7 home games and in their last 8 games overall the posted total has gone Over 6 times.

The favorite has covered the spread in the last 4 games between the Steelers and the Bengals.
