Pacers G Price has successful surgery

Indiana Pacers guard A.J. Price had successful surgery to repair the fractured patella of his left knee.

The Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday that the procedure was done at Indiana Orthopedic Hospital.

Price suffered the injury in a charity basketball game Saturday night in New York and will rehabilitate with the Pacers' medical staff. He's expected to miss four to six months.

Price injured the same knee two years ago, suffering a torn ACL while playing in an NCAA Tournament game for the University of Connecticut.

Price, who was selected by the Pacers with the 52nd overall pick in the second round of the 2009 draft, finished his rookie campaign averaging 7.3 points, 1.9 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 56 games (two starts).
